Low-pass Filter

Suppress out-of-band noise and high-frequency leakage on filtered cryogenic lines, especially flux and auxiliary low-frequency paths.

What it does

Compact inline coaxial low-pass filter block used for cryogenic wiring on flux and filtered auxiliary lines. This reference shape represents a machined SMA low-pass filter body, not a generic IR plate filter or a copper-powder absorptive can.

Where it goes

Allowed stages
4K, Still, CP, MXC, 1K
Preferred stages
4K, Still, CP, MXC
Typical line types
flux, dc
  • Strongly recommended on flux and selected auxiliary lines.
  • Do not use this LPF block as a substitute for staged attenuators on XY or readout input lines.
  • IR plate filters and absorptive copper-powder filters should be modeled as separate component families.

Typical specifications

TypeCoaxial low-pass block
Cutoff1 – 12 GHz
Insertion loss< 1 dB
ConnectorsSMA female / SMA female

Ports

  • Ininflux, dc, microwave50 Ω
  • Outoutflux, dc, microwave50 Ω

Physical envelope

29.0 × 11.0 × 20.0 mm

Compact coaxial low-pass filter envelope aligned to the ~29 × 20 × 11 mm machined SMA block class. Ports are placed at the mating planes rather than at decorative connector centers.
