G-10 Support Rod
Provide low-thermal-conductivity mechanical support between cryostat stages.
What it does
Structural fiberglass-epoxy rod used to suspend and mechanically separate colder stages from warmer ones while limiting thermal conduction. In dilution refrigerators this support member is part of the cryostat structure, not part of the signal chain.
Where it goes
- Allowed stages
- 300K, 50K, 4K, Still, CP, MXC, 1K
- Preferred stages
- 300K, 50K, 4K, Still, CP, MXC, 1K
- Belongs to the cryostat support structure rather than the electrical wiring harness.
- Diameter, count, and angular pattern should be treated as managed structural parameters.
Typical specifications
| Material | G-10/FR4 glass epoxy |
| Diameter | 6.35 mm |
| Function | Structural support with low thermal conductance |
Physical envelope
6.3 × 120.0 × 6.3 mm
